No Heat & Possible Leak
Jan - Feb 22
After a service call and recent installation of a new T-stat thermostat the customer on Ridgeway Drive called to say she had no heat.
After hooking up gauges the pressures were a little low on the system so we charged it up with a lb of R 410-a.
Very quickly the customer noticed improvement in airflow before our technician left.
They were already aware of a minor leak in the system, which at this point had not been located. Customer was happy to monitor going forward.
Since this was a return visit the customer was not charged.
The customer called again some days later to say there was still no heat. The system had shut down with low pressure.
This was suspected to be the possible leak.
After a courtesy electronic leak search the leak could not be locate. The client approved an isolation leak search.
After the leak search it was determined that the customer .
Our technician later returned to:
– Replace evaporator coil under manufacturer warranty
– Replace copper line set
– Install chase to cover pipes
– Run new Tstat Wires
System Short Cycling
Jan 22
Customer close to the Mystic Dunes Golf Club called to say that his system was short cycling and he couldn’t get any heat. He had a warranty in effect until June 2022.
After diagnosing the system was shutting down on low pressure. It was determined to be a problem with a bad stepper motor, EEV control board or the two sensors.
EEV control board and stepper motor were ordered under warranty.
Our technician returned to install the new American Standard stepper motor. The old one’s resistance was too high, (47 ohms) (supposed to be about 45).
The customer had noted he had only recently moved into the property a few weeks ago, and the unit had been sat not running for 6 months.
Customer was left satisfied at the resolution.
