Customer in Winter Garden called to say he had no heat. January, Wednesday 19th. The system was not reaching temperature in heat mode.
After diagnosing our technician Joe found that the system was extremely low on refrigerant. This prompted Joe to immediately do a leak search at the evaporator coil with an electronic leak detector. There was a significant leak found at the front bottom right of the coil.
Joe provided a temporary solution for the customer to have heat until a replacement coil could be fitted. He rewired the thermostat to the electric heat instead of the heat pump.
A new coil was ordered for the following Monday. On the 24th the coil was replaced under warranty. Our technician Joe also replaced a piece of suction line at air handler.
The pressure was tested and the system was put under vacuum and charged up to manufacturer requirements.
